'One day' finally came!!
I always knew 'one day' I would find my inner strength and just go anyway. No more waiting, no more excuses, feel the fear and do it anyway. I thought it was something other people did, those successful travelling people. Those shiny folk who travel the world, and still run a successful business making the world a better place (thanks instagram).
But wait - isn't that what/who I aspire to be?
So what am I waiting for?
As I sit here prepared as I am ever going to be for my first solo trip to India, I feel alive with a sense of excitement and anticipation. I'm not waiting anymore (excpept in airports). It occasionally rises as anxiety but I coax the anxious one within because the Mother within know's she's got this.
It's been a few years in the making, and I've put in a lifetime's worth of work to get to this point. But I crafted my art as a digital nomad, I designed it so I can work from anywhere, because I want a life of freedom and the ability to adventure. I'm not built to stay in one place, and much as I love my homeland and will always return - I'm inspired by the courageous humans who follow their unique curiosity and frequency, and I know that this journey will expand my consciousness beyond logic.
Traveling has always been a source of inspiration for me.
Every time I head out into the unknown, I meet incredible people who inspire me and, I know that connecting with like-minded individuals is essential for personal growth.
To be honest relating has been a rocky road and I know you're going to understand as it's not easy for any of us really. I even sometimes feel like people are 'inconvenient' to the epic flow I have going on. Until my epic flow is derailed by a wave of grief or lonliness - it's important that I allow the wave to wash over me.
The longing that we all feel at times is real and needs to be acknolwledged and held. There is beauty and wisdom in that. Then it takes some courage to shift the mindset and reconnect with others. It's really through these connections that we learn our deepese lessons, not to mention find the support and encouragement we need to create the reality we daydream about - we cannot do it alone.
'Solo' never means 'alone'.
We are all, always inter connected.
But it's not just about connecting with others, there is a fine balance which I dance with daily, as I also love my own company and know the benefit of solitude is absolute gold. It's also about finding sacred space within ourselves. It's all a divine dance within and without - and when we take a holistic approach to our lives, we can achieve a level of balance that allows us to thrive.
I'm really feeling that this balance has got me here to 'one day'. One day in fact, before I fly a long way from my familiars and my home. So getting self centred and selfish is my absolute priotity right now! And I always thought that was 'wrong'!
As creative entrepreneurs and professionals, we often focus on business growth and our contribution and impact in the world and on those around us, but we can't forget about self-care.
It's easy to get caught up in the daily stuff, ideas, concepts and co-workers, but we need to take the time to focus on our own well-being as a non-negotiable first. It can take any shape you want it to - meditation, exercise, dance, sing, paint, write, a walk in nature. This time out for self-care is essential for maintaining sanity, balance, focus, productivity, organisation, and time management. It is also essential if we want to serve our purpose in the world as an exceptional human.
This time for ourselves brings the focus back to our centre, shifting our perspective, and mindset is everything. As a mentor I see daily that mindset is the foundation for success. When we approach our lives with a positive confident mindset, we're more likely to achieve our priority goals and stay motivated. This said - it's not just about positive thinking. This myth traps so many people.
Positive thinking is amazing, but we cannot think our way to a great life. Wishing it was different actually just keeps us in lack and scarcity, and trying to positive mantra our way out of it is bypassing the root cause. It's a journey of self development we are on here, and that means taking time to experience the full range of emotions we need to feel deep within, and find support from others when we need it.
It's also about taking action, being accountable and responsible for our thoughts and emotions, and staying focused on where we are right now, and where we want to go.
So as I embark on this journey to India & far east, I'm reminded of the importance of all this and keep curiosity, inspiration and motivation fresh. It's through these qualities that we can achieve our dreams and create the reality we desire. And as a seeker and seer, I know that the universe has a way of guiding us towards our true purpose.
So this is and inner and outer journey.
For me this is all a great test and opportunity in finding the balance between travel and adventure, business growth and self-care, staying focused and connecting with like-minded peolple online and offline who inspire me.
I feel that I have prepared my inner landscape to explore more, and my outer landscape is reflecting it - taking a fully holistic approach to life, nurturing my mind, body, and spirit, and finding sacred space no matter where I am in the world. It's my location and experiences that keep moving - my inner stillness is always available for me to tune into (think I'll be wanting a bit of that in Mumbai).
I always reflect around a full moon (one of my many rituals to keep track of my process), and I love to encourage others to take the time to reflect on their own journey.
What inspires you and lights you up? What motivates you? What are you curious about? And most importantly, what tiny action steps can you take today to move closer to those goals?
'One day' will only happen when you decide.
Personal growth and self development is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It's about finding what works for you and staying fully committed to yourself and your own journey. And as you navigate this journey, know that you're not alone. There are peers, mentors, coaches, souls tribe and like-minded folks everywhere - as long as we are open to receive them.
There are people like me, who I have observed and learned from.
If they can, I can.
If I can. you can.
From experience - I encourage you to go out there, connect with the world, and create the reality you desire and dream about - it doesn't have to be a dream. Of course we have days of feeling lost or unsure, remember to come back to your heart, connect with nature, and find the sacred space within yourself. Because it's in those moments that the universe has a way of guiding us towards our highest self.
I offer 1:1 coaching in self care, development and accountability.
